Peace River Center for Writers, Inc. is an independent, non-profit public organization that offers assistance in all kinds of writing, and to writers of all backgrounds.

Formal courses such as seminars and workshops are offered in all aspects of writing, as well as individual tutorials, editing services, proofreading, and direct assistance to writers seeking publication. Frequent readings, presentations, and other literary events are scheduled throughout the year.

PRCW was established in Punta Gorda, Florida, on April 2, 2002. The Center is incorporated in the State of Florida as a 501(c)(3) charitable organization, with IRS tax-exempt status approved on October 11, 2002.

The Center officially "opened its doors" and commenced activities on July 1, 2002. Under a special arrangement with the Punta Gorda Historical Society, the historic Trabue Law and Land Sales Office at the Punta Gorda History Park became its home. PRCW activities were centered in the History Park until July, 2008 when all operations were moved to the Edison State College campus, 26300 Airport Rd., Punta Gorda, FL  33950.
